Songs everyone should know
First, I should really learn to stay away from my blog when I’m not in a good mood. Bad things happen.
So, I woke up today and my sister Andrea’s iPod was flippin out and she couldn’t get it to work. Her computer conked out so I had to reformat it on my computer. All my songs ended up on her iPod and while we were waiting for it to upload all of them, she was going through my playlists and said “Who is Oasis?”, “Who is Jack Johnson?”, “Who is Guster?”, and so on.
Now, I can see Oasis and Guster, but Jack Johnson? He’s pretty recent. She also didn’t really know who Coldplay was. Very sad. So, for Christmas, I’m going to give her the gift of music. I’m going to make as many CD’s as it takes to make her a collection of music filled with songs that she should know. Since I’m biased, I’m trying to enlist my friends, and all of you, into helping me with this task. I’m also going to give this to Nicole and Stephanie.
So, what are songs that people should know? It can be from any era, any genre, or any artist or band. I’ll make my list here as well and keep it updated. Help my sisters not be musically challenged.
Here’s what I have so far: (in no particular order)
- Karma Police by Radiohead
- Pink Moon by Nick Drake
- You and I Both by Jason Mraz
- She Says by Howie Day
- Champagne Supernova by Oasis
- Better Together by Jack Johnson
- Cannonball by Damien Rice
- Don’t Go Away by Oasis
- Good Day Sunshine by The Beatles
- I Will by The Beatles
- Honey and The Moon by Joseph Arthur
- Miss Misery by Elliot Smith
I’m very picky and I’m going through my music collection one by one. So what do you think should go on there? Go ahead and leave a comment! (Please)

Personally, I am a Pink Floyd fan. One of my favorites is Money from The Dark Side of the Moon.
