Weekend Movie Marathon Reviews
This weekend I watched a lot of movies. A fairly new video rental store opened up and I heard that they were cheap, they were, so I decided to get a few movies. I’ll give a brief review, and I’ll try not to put in spoilers in case you haven’t seen any of them and want to.
Thursday: Superman Returns, Accepted
Friday: The Breakup, Elizabethtown
Sunday: John Tucker Must Die

Superman Returns
I purposefully avoided anything regarding Superman Returns all summer. I wanted to see it with Gaby in the theater, but the summer was a busy time so that didn’t happen. I eventually wanted to see it without having anything spoiled. I hate it when I find out the whole plot of a movie before I get to watch it. I successfully navigated through summer and fall without reading or hearing anything about the movie. I’m proud of myself.
So when I decided to go rent a movie, this had to be the very first one I rented. Luckily, they had it in stock. I watched it about five times, it is that good. Obviously, Superman Returns is about Superman returning to Earth after being gone for some years. He struggles to find his place in his old life, both as Clark Kent and Superman. It’s sad during some moments, and I’ll admit that I cried, but I felt satisfied at the end of the movie.

Accepted
Well, I’ve kind of grown out of movies like this, or at least I thought I did. It wasn’t stupid like I thought it was going to be. Sure, it’s kind of cheesy and there are some stupid parts like the whole wiener thing but I laughed and thought it was pretty good. Besides, that girl from The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants is in the movie (see above). Btw, Gaby is way hotter.
Anyway, this movie is worth seeing. I probably won’t watch it again unless it’s on tv, but it was pretty good.

The Breakup
I watch everything that Jennifer Aniston is in. I think she’s a great actor and she’s funny. Vince Vaughn isn’t bad either.
This movie is exactly what it says, it’s about a breakup. The movie revolves around them living in the same condo together after they break up because neither of them want to give it up but also, they don’t really want to break up. They each try to make each other jealous by bringing home dates or by having parties.
I was disappointed by the ending. But that’s life I suppose. Vince Vaughn’s character reminded me of myself, just a bit though. His character keeps everyone at a distance and I think that this is what ultimately breaks up the relationship. This is a great movie and I would have watched it another time before I brought it back, but I can only take crying so much.

Elizabethtown
Alright, so when I went to rent this (and The Breakup), Andrea was buying. I sort of coaxed her into getting this movie, but when she found out Orlando Bloom was in it, she grabbed it up. Orlando bloom looks like a girl.
It started off a bit slow and kinda weird, but it doesn’t take long for it to get interesting. It’s funny and touching. I didn’t cry when I watched this one. The cast is great and works well with each other. The soundtrack fits the movie well and I think that it’s almost better than the movie.
The one gripe I have about the movie is that you think it’s going to end at one point then there’s another 30 minutes or so to go. Don’t do that, I hate when that happens.

John Tucker Must Die
I was avoiding this movie like the plague at first. I didn’t want to watch another high school movie about a relationship because those are overdone and stupid. I finally caved in, mainly because I started having a panic attack in the store and Colie was buying so I wanted to leave.
I was really surprised. It was actually good. It was funny and different from the other high school movies. It was still cheesy though, but who cares. It’s definitely worth watching.
It’s about John Tucker, the captain and star of the basketball team, who likes to date multiple women. In other words, player. Somehow the three girls find out about each other and along with Brittany Snow’s character, they team up to seek revenge on John Tucker. No, they don’t try to kill him.
