Borat comes to Washington
Borat was in Washington yesterday. The Washington Post has a column up about it and also a little video.
Borat, or rather Sacha Baron Cohen, is making the president of Khazakstan angry. When I was in high school we once had a foreign exchange student from there. He wasn’t like Borat. And [...]
Excerpt from a newly found Robert Frost poem
Than the war is in France!She thinks of a winter camp
Where soldiers for France are made.
She draws down the window shade
And it glows with an early lamp.”
– Robert Frost , written in 1918 and inspired by World War I

Bitacle: Up Yours
I was reading Ben’s blog, Open Switch, and found out about his trouble with bitacle.org. After doing some searching I found that my feed was being used on bitacle.org as well.
There has been a lot of outrage at bitacle.org recently and I am joining in. It’s one thing for Technorati to show excerpts [...]
How To: Add A Sidebar To bbPress
Not everyone wants a sidebar in bbPress but I wanted to add one to my forums. Here’s how you do it just in case you are wondering.
First, make your sidebar.php.
Next, go to bb-includes/template-function.php.
In there insert the following:
function bb_get_sidebar() {
global $bb, $bbdb, $forum, $forum_id, $topic, $bb_current_user;
if (file_exists( BBPATH . ‘my-templates/sidebar.php’) )
include( BBPATH . ‘my-templates/sidebar.php’);
else include( BBPATH [...]

Vote
With the 2006 elections just around the corner knowing the issues, being involved, and voting are more important than ever. The political landscape of the U.S. could change drastically with this election. The Dems could take back Congress or the Republicans could keep control.
Either way, you should still be concerned about the issues [...]
New Forums Powered By bbPress
I just installed the latest alpha version of bbPress. It wouldn’t work at first, I think something to do with PHP Safe Mode, and I had to run the PHP as CGI, which didn’t take long as it was a simple .htaccess fix. I haven’t noticed any sluggishness because of it so I’m [...]

Good Music Is Hard To Come Buy
Music is one of those things I can’t live without and I struggle to find good music to listen to. I’ve just given up now. I’ve become accustomed to the fact that most music that comes out now is shitty and sounds the same as everything else.
I [...]

Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela
After the speech he gave at the United Nations on September 20th he’s suddenly taken over the airwaves here in the US. Many people are wondering about the applause that his speech received. Was it because they agreed with him and he had the balls to say it? [...]
DDR Video
Well I said I would upload a video of me trying my best at DDR. And here it is. Keep in mind that before the other day I had never played DDR and this was the second time I played.
DDR and Me
Gaby has wanted to get Dance Dance Revolution since this summer. Her mom bought it for her last night. I’ve never played DDR before and neither had Gaby so we started slowly and did the lessons.
Then we did pretty much all the beginner dances. I suck by the way. I have no rhythm and even [...]

Darfur
Since 2003, more than 400,000 people have been murdered, 2 million people have been forced from their homes, and 3.5 million people completely rely on international aid workers for survival. (SaveDarfur.org)
Background
In 2003, two rebel groups in Darfur formed to fight for reform within the Sudanese government and to address issues such as underdevelopment and [...]

Weeds on Showtime: Mondays @ 10PM
I didn’t even hear about Weeds until just before the second season started and I watched some of the first season episodes on Showtime On Demand. I haven’t missed an episode since.
The story line is intriguing and hilarious. Nancy Botwin (Mary Louise-Parker), a suburban mom, living in a [...]
Things You Should Know About
Esquire recently did a feature called The Esquire 100. Basically these are the things that Esquire thinks you should know about. The list, a pretty shitty one at that, is a collection of people, things, and ideas that pretty much mean nothing to most people. I decided to do my own list, although I’m not [...]
Almost Validates
Well, I am cleaning things up and went to validate it so I could fix the errors, unfortunately, there are two errors that I can’t seem to fix. Anyone know how? They both have to do with K2, and since the support forums still aren’t up yet, I’m asking here.
The first one has to [...]
Completely Changing Everything
Well, a lot has been going on over here. Our phone isn’t working and hasn’t worked for two weeks or so. So if you tried to call or want to call or am waiting for a call from me…it probably won’t happen till next week.
On the other hand I’ve been helping [...]

Dark Matter Exists?
Dark Matter, which for a bit I thought was bullshit, because there had to be an explanation for other gravitational forces besides an unknown, unseen force called Dark Matter. I was wrong and I’m not afraid to admit that. Now, we have proof that Dark Matter exists, and this is a huge [...]
America’s Smartest Cities
The U.S. Census Bureau released a list of the smartest cities in the U.S. They measured it by how many people living in the cities had at least a B.A.
